Martinez retakes the FA in Cincinnati

Qualifying offer symbolized by top free agent players. This year, another player accepted the offer of a single-year contract.

The Major League’s official website MLB.com reported on the 19th (Korea time) that Nick Martinez (34) accepted the Cincinnati Reds’ qualifying offer.

This is one day after Martinez’s expected acceptance of the qualifying offer on the 18th. Now Martinez will take the mound in the 2025 season in Cincinnati.

In the FA market, a total of 13 players received qualifying offers. It is determined by the average annual salary of the top 125 players in the Major League. This year, it is 21.05 million dollars.

However, few players accept a qualifying offer. This is because the club takes a very cautious attitude when presenting the offer. Most of the players who receive the offer aim for a big hit.

Among the players who accepted the qualifying offer is Ryu Hyun-jin. Earlier in the winter of 2018, he accepted the qualifying offer from the Los Angeles Dodgers and wore a blue uniform for another year.

Martinez, who is in his seventh year in the 토토사이트 League, pitched 14 1/3 innings in 42 games (16 starts) this season, going 10-7 with a 3.10 strikeout and 116 ERA.

He showed good performance as starting pitcher and reliever. However, when he started as relief pitcher, he has a much better ERA. He has 3.84 as starting pitcher and 1.86 as relief pitcher.

Martinez is now seeking a multi-year contract in 2025 through a de facto FA re-entry. Qualifying offers are only available once throughout his career.

As a result, Martinez will be able to enter the FA market without being bound by a qualifying offer in the coming winter of 2025. This is a very favorable condition for players.
