Legend Ichiro Challenges to Join the MLB Hall of Fame…Will it be possible to be unanimous

Japanese baseball and Major League Baseball legend Ichiro Suzuki (51) will try to join the MLB Hall of Fame.

MLB.COM, the official website of MLB, introduced candidates for the 2025 Hall of Fame on the 19th (Korea time).

Players who have played for more than 10 seasons can have the right to run for the election five years after retirement. There are a total of 10 chances, and you have to get more than 5% of the vote every year to get a chance in the next year.

With a total of 14 players nominated, Ichiro is the most prominent.

Ichiro, who played in the Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB), dominated the MLB stage after signing a contract with the Seattle Mariners in 2001 and entering the big league.

In his debut season, Ichiro became a sensation by winning the Rookie of the Year award and the MVP award of the American League, making 10 seasons of 200 hits. He also recorded 10 All-Star selections and 10 Gold Glove awards.

In 2004, he set a new record for the most hits in a single season with 262 hits, and played as a “hit machine” by hitting 3,089 hits in MLB alone.

Having played in the MLB for 19 years, Ichiro retired in 2019 when he was 46. He played 2,653 games and recorded a batting average of 0.311, 117 homers, 780 RBIs, 3089 hits, and OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 0.757.

토토사이트.COM said, “Ichiro is most likely to receive 75% of the votes needed for the Hall of Fame induction,” adding, “The management is unanimous.”

Mariano Rivera is the only player who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 to receive unanimous agreement.

In addition, MLB.COM predicted that CC Sabathia, who was nominated for the Hall of Fame for the first time along with Ichiro, is also a likely player to join.

In addition to Ichiro and Sabathia, Dustin Pedroia, Felix Hernandez, Carlos González, Curtis Granderson, Adam Jones, Ian Kinsler, Russell Martin, Brian McCann, Hanley Ramirez, Fernando Rodney, Troy Tulowitzki and Ben Zobrist will challenge the admission.

Journalists of the American Baseball Journalists Association (BBWAA) who have the right to vote will vote until January 1 next year, and the results will be announced on January 22. The elected candidates will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2025 Inauguration Ceremony in Cooperstown, New York, on July 28.
